My counseling style is accepting, direct, and interactive. I know we all write our own book, and we have our own answers. Our emotions help guide us to those answers. The therapeutic relationship creates a safe place to find those answers.

Life can sometimes be discouraging and trying for all of us. We do not give up. Counseling helps us overcome our difficulties. Courageous expression of our feelings will lead us to our personal solutions to life’s challenges.

I am experienced counseling individuals in every season of life:

  • Seniors struggling with end-of-life issues, family relationships, ongoing loss, and unresolved adverse childhood trauma
  • Individual adults dealing with work, parenting, aging relatives and personal relationships
  • Adolescents sorting out their bewildering awakening emotions
  • Children overwhelmed by issues of divorce, and other childhood trauma.

Parents are partners. Parents gain insight and greater understanding of their child. The relationship between child and parent is strengthened. Family life improves. Individuals working in partnership with me usually acquire greater emotional understanding and increased self-confidence.

The positive realizations experienced in counseling can be lifelong. The acceptance of ourselves, of our healthy human emotions, makes us the interesting individuals we are. Increased emotional awareness contributes to a more fulfilling life.
